Mizner Hits the Stratosphere — As One of the Top 150 Private Clubs in the Nation. The Club Achieves Platinum Status

Mizner Country Club has just joined the most exclusive clubs of all, achieving Platinum Club status, the highest form of recognition for private clubs in the nation. It is the most sought-after acknowledgment, revered in the private club industry.

Mizner’s new bragging rights give members the ability to say they live in one of the top 5% of Private Clubs in the nation, ranking within the Top 150 Platinum Country Clubs by Club Leaders Forum — one of 15 in Palm Beach County. As the accolades roll in it’s hard to fathom that Platinum Status has been achieved even before Mizner’s $22 million Lifestyle Center cracks open its doors — with the grand opening slated for late summer of 2019.

Ask the Club’s Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, Larry Savvides, and he’ll tell you it was a team effort.

“The foundation of our success has a lot to do with the membership,” said Savvides. “It all started with a pledge to renovate the golf course, investing $6.2 million and now it’s one of the best private courses in the area.”

Savvides has commandeered his team over 8 years and through some tough times bringing Mizner from a C level club to one of the top clubs in the country. He expressed, “It’s taken a village, including the membership, the board and the management team working in concert to rise to Platinum Status.”

For Savvides it was a process of aligning the elements, sweating the details and mainly, making good decisions.

“It was the amazing food and beverage program, the bold decision to invest in marketing and rebranding, launching a new logo, and our social media campaign,” said Savvides. “We made investments materially but also in human capital, renovating the management team.”

Through it all was the Mizner family, the tight-knit membership that calls their home “Camp Mizner,” and the members that take leading roles on the board.
“Our board supported us and provided the resources — together in harmony those decisions all reflected well on the panelists who led to why they voted for Mizner, honoring us with this recognition, this award,” said Savvides.

As Savvides has nothing but praise for the board that supported him, they’re showing the love right back. Club President, Ron Greenberg recognizes the hard work of Larry and his team.

“We’re extremely proud to have been awarded this designation,” said Greenberg. “The members only want the best of what a country club can offer. The board has been very proactive in encouraging management to reach the highest standards in country club living that we can achieve. Management has done an excellent job of bringing us to that level.”

What is Platinum Status and How Does it All Work?
